I wandered my way into Forever 21 a couple of weekends ago. It’s really a hit-or-miss store for me, but that weekend proved to be a hit.

I found this delicate cream shirt and two gold necklaces I paired with it. This shirt is perfect for spring and summer but also great for fall with darker jeans and ankle boots. The necklaces layer so well together, and I add in existing gold earrings, light pink rings and a gold watch to tie the look together. Voila!

A few of my favorite rompers I’ve pinned to my Summery Style Icon Pinterest board this summer. I’ll take them all. I love how rompers can be dressed up or down and let’s not forget how comfortable they are!

Growing up in the 90s meant a few things: Nickelodeon all day every day, Skip-It, Polly Pockets, Beanie Babies, McDonald’s Play Place, the running man, boy bands, Tiger Beat, Furby, lots of time spent outside (I mean, LOTS), Honey I Shrunk the Kids, eating Lucky Charms (marshmallows only)… the list could go on and on and on.

But, we can’t forget 90s fashion. Overalls and skorts were worn by many, and get excited people, these gems are making an appearance again. Here are overalls and skorts of 2014. What do you think? I’m not opposed to the updated looks.

Well it wouldn’t be summer without shorts. Here are some of my favorites for this season:

    1. Lace Shorts at H&M.  2. Twill Shorts at H&M.  3. Pleat Side Shorts at Top Shop.  4. Floral Frill Shorts at Top Shop.  5. Junior’s Side Detail Denim Short at Target.  6. Merona Women’s Chino 3” Short at Target.

There’s a meme I’ve seen on Pinterest that talks about how you can’t go into Target without spending $50. It’s funny because it’s true.

Since Target is just full of cute stuff, things you really don’t need but look so appealing in the store and some pretty good deals, here’s five items I’m loving right now.

Happy Sunday! Go hang out at Target :)

    1. Women’s Fashion Flamingo Cuff Bracelet with Stones at Target.  2. Merona Two Zipper Crossbody Handbag at Target.  3. Junior’s Keyhole Back Romper at Target.  4. Merona Geometric Print Infinity Scarf with Trim at Target.  5. Women’s Mossima Supply Co. Stephanie Gladiator Sandal at Target.

My In Full Bloom Pinterest board is full of gorgeous flower photography. It’s no surprise these pins inspired me to style a colorful outfit for summer. (I see more of these posts happening in the future.)

I used denim shorts and sandals as the base (i.e. the floor) and pulled in the colorful pink, purple and orange tones in the blouse and jewelry. I’d tuck in the blouse in the front and head to lunch, shopping or to a festival :).

    1. Lacquer Bromeliad Bib at Bauble Bar.  2. Women’s Rhinestone Dome Earrings at Target.  3. Pave Geo Wrap Bracelet at Bauble Bar.  4. Merona Women’s Sleeveless Button Down Blouse at Target.  5. Ripped Shorts at Zara.  6. Neon Denim Women’s Playa Sandals at Tom’s Shoes.

Since July 4th is coming up, I thought it’d be appropriate to pull some of my favorite American-inspired ensembles from my Go Fourth Pinterest board. I really love red, white and blue… And not just for July 4th. It’s always such a classic look any day. Happy early 4th!

How great are wedges? Lord knows I need a few more pairs of these. (No really, I do.) Since wedges are pretty much a spring and summer staple, I had to do a post on them.

Here are some favorites I’ve found. Notice that all of these have straps around the ankle or foot to hold the heel to the shoe. There’s nothing I dislike more than a heavy wedge flopping underneath my heel and feet that slide forward. I mean really, how do you walk in those?? I also stay away from platform wedges. These, however, are perf. I’ll take them all!

This is my family’s poodle, Maggie. These are the dog outfits I’d dress her in if she would let me. Maggie reluctantly wears a sweater in the winter. Typically after putting it on she chews on the neck for the first few hours.

Yes, this post is about dog clothes. I don’t care what anyone thinks, dogs can be fashionable too. These are a few outfits I found on Pinterest. My favorite is probably the striped turtlenecks. The raincoat is a good one too, and so functional!

When it comes to Memorial Day weekend, pools and barbecues are imperative. So, for this “In the Event of” post I’ve come up with a cute outfit to wear to none other than a barbecue. I love these high-waisted Zara shorts and summery crop top paired with simple accessories. This outfit is easy, comfortable and colorful… perfect for a little barbecuing.

    1. Semi-Precious Stone Necklaces at Top Shop.  2. High Waist Shorts at Zara.  3. Women’s Mossimo Supply Co. Lakitia Sandals at Target.  4. Tiered Crochet Crop Top at Love Culture.  5. Metal Arm Cateye Sunglasses at Top Shop.

  11. RING IT ON.

Meet my new obsession - rings. Here are a few of my favorites. Just like watches, I’ll probably end up with 15 of these. :D

    1. Marc by Marc Jacobs Enamel Daisy Ring at Bloomingdale’s.  2. Birthday Blooms at Pandora.  3. Nautical Knots Ring Set at C Wonder.  4. Floral Elegance at Pandora.  5. Mi Amor at Pandora.  6. Tropical Lovebirds Ring at Anthropologie.  7. Sparkling Bow at Pandora.  8. Goreski Glasses Ring at Kate Spade.

This post is strictly to dramatically rave over one fab brand. You’ve been forewarned.

It was about a year or two ago that my sister dragged me into Zara at the mall. I wasn’t in love with it to say the least. Fast forward to a few months ago when I wore a pair of my sister’s Zara jeans and life changed forever! Not really, but kind of.

Since then I’ve bought my fair share of Zara jeans and let me tell you they are a God send. We all know finding good jeans is nearly impossible. But finally after years of frustration I have found THE jeans.

I love that they are well made (for example, the inseams are actually straight), they fit in the legs and waist, the length is perf (not short is key) and the colors are great. They are typically around $60-$70 but I’ve found some at $35. That’s a steal!

A sure sign of spring is Easter. And with this day comes many things; one being the Easter dress. Trying to find the right dress for church, brunch and an Easter egg hunt is imperative. I’ve come up with an Easter outfit perfect for the festivities.

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. " John 3:16

    1. Persian Leaves Necklace at JCrew.  2. Robert Lee Morris Gold-Tone Cross Link Bracelet at Macy’s.  3. Steve Madden Lexii Sandal at Nordstrom.  4. Xhilaration Junior’s Lace Sweetheart Dress at Target.  5. Dooney & Bourke Handbag, Eva Collection Small Shopper t Macy’s.  6. Merona Leopard Print Calf-Hair Belt at Target.

I love, love, love yellow for this time of the year! Whether it’s referred to as gold or citron or lemon or mustard, yellow is yellow and yellow is perfect.

I’m never opposed to a monochromatic look, so I’d wear a yellow ensemble complete with yellow accessories any day. But, one bold piece makes a statement too. I’d complement this bright hue with camel, gold, brown or white to keep the look light and airy for spring and summer.

So here’s to lots of sunshine that warrants plenty of yellow outfits. :)

    1. Wheel Lace Crop Dress at Top Shop.  2. Rebecca Minkoff Mini Mac at Piperlime.  3. Women’s Mossimo Audrey Braided Strap Sandal at Target.  4.  Pineapple Stud Earrings at Top Shop.  5. Bracelet with Love in Fanfare at Vera Bradley.  6.  Merona Women’s Draw String Shirt Dress at Target.  7. AEO Factory Shortie at American Eagle.  8. Pim + Larkin Yellow Flower Ring at Piperlime.

I’ve styled four dresses for four different spring occasions: brunch, a day date, shopping spree and a wedding.

For brunch, keep it casual with flat sandals, a feminine dress and nature-inspired jewelry. A black and white dress and gold jewelry are perfect for a day date without looking like you’re trying too hard. Stay comfortable with a polyester dress, headband and easy shoulder bag while going on a much-needed shopping spree. And finally, elegant and simple is key for attending a spring wedding… loving this blue dress and the shoes!
